The story of Steve’s Mediterranean Chef began many years ago in Lebanon with the Chammas family gathering together every Sunday to enjoy traditional Mediterranean dishes perfected and passed down through generations.

Inspired by his heritage, Pierre Chammas set out more than 30 years ago to find a way to share these recipes with others. Pierre started by launching Basha, a popular hummus brand, and in doing so, proved that there was a need for packaged Mediterranean foods within the greater grocery industry.

After many years running Basha, Pierre successfully sold the brand in order to fully lean into his inspiration: his family. By building Steve’s Mediterranean Chef on the values of family, love, and good food, Pierre has created a recipe for success. Now, Pierre’s vision continues through his children who have joined the business and share his passion for keeping the tradition alive.

Today, Steve’s Mediterranean brings generations old, authentic Lebanese recipes to local grocery stores. At Steve’s, we have a special connection to our food and how it’s made and are committed to delivering real food made by real people. We put our heart and soul into every product, and you can taste the difference.
